On Saturday April 6 was held a banquet to celebrate the centenary of Scouting in The Bahamas. The event had a large share of people belong and have belonged to The Scout Association of The Bahamas, plus personalities of other youth organizations (Boys Brigade, Girl Guides) and local government.

The program of the evening featured speeches from key people in the history of Scouting in The Bahamas, presentation of awards and a nice music and entertainment program.
The World Organization of Scout Movement - Interamerican Region presented a plaque in recognition of the work of the Bahamas to keep alive the flame of Scouting. The plaque was presented by Humphrey Schurman, Interamerican Scout Committee member and Raul Sanchez Vaca, Regional Director.
The President of the Scout Association of the Bahamas, John Phillpot, presented a book compiling the history of Scouting in this important country in the Caribbean.
